Sangha Community Care

As a spiritual community we are committed to offering support to our fellow members. This is not only an opportunity for those who are in need to receive assistance. For those who are able, it is also an opportunity to practice dana (generosity).

Many of us already reach out to sangha members who we see are struggling with illness, stress, isolation or or other troubles. In order to strengthen this movement, we have set up way to match up those in need with those of us who may be able to help. Services may include transportation to medical appointments, running errands, providing meals, child care, pet care, light house/yard word, etc.

If you recognize that another sangha member is struggling and you aren’t able to provide the needed support, or if you yourself could benefit from assistance, please contact Emily Koritz

If you are willing/able to offer support to others, please fill out this survey.

True Refuge Companion Program

The True Refuge Companion Program is designed to support those in our community who are aging, ill or dying, as well as their caregivers, loved ones and the bereaved.

True Refuge Companions can help bring mindful presence through companioned meditation sessions, noble silence, and deeply listening in a way that helps to hold a space for whatever arises. Sessions may be held in person, via Zoom or by phone.

For more information, please contact Judy Majcen.

Have you heard of the benefits of meditation but don't know if it's right for you? Would you like to try meditation but don't know where to start? We offer a one-hour introduction to insight meditation via Zoom. We will explore what meditation is, how to do it, and provide guidance to help you establish a regular practice.

There is no cost for the class but registration is required.

Intro to Mindfulness Meditation Thought and Practice

An introduction to meditation and Buddhist philosophy for anyone who is new to Buddhist thought or who wants to refresh their understanding and practice. The program consists of eight weekly 90-minute sessions offered via Zoom. Each session will consist of guided meditations and a presentation on a fundamental teaching. The eight sessions are intended to build upon each other, but each can stand alone so that one can join any session without feeling lost.

There is no cost for the class but registration is required. The series is generally offered twice per year —join our mailing list to receive notice of course offerings.
